Ralf Gauck - The Master of Silent Tones

We are excited to welcome Ralf Gauck to our Marleaux Artist Family. He is one of the most renowned bassists in Europe. When he steps onto the stage and captivates the audience with his bass, it’s easy to forget that there is “only” a musician with four strings performing. Gauck plays a mixture of pop, jazz, folk, and classical music, and his concert program includes his own songs as well as music from artists like Sting, The Beatles, Bach, and Metallica. If you look for technical aids and effect devices, you will only find a capo or a mallet with Ralf. For him, music is still, quite literally, handmade. His performances not only impress the press and his audience but also Sting himself, who supported him during the release of his solo CD FIELDS OF GOLD.

The prestigious weekly newspaper DIE ZEIT included this production, recorded in Oslo by the world-famous sound engineer Jan Erik Kongshaug, in its 2007 Best of the Year list. Additionally, the Deutsche Popstiftung has awarded him the first prize as BEST BASSIST multiple times.

The specialized press has referred to Ralf Gauck as the “Bass Wonder.” He has performed concerts worldwide, including at the “Abbey Road on the River” festival in Louisville, USA, and the Nemzetközi Akusztikusgitar Festival in Hungary. Gauck has worked in world-famous recording studios, such as the Abbey Road Studios in London and the Rainbow Studios in Oslo.

He has shared the stage with notable musicians, including Michael Manring (USA), Tony Sheridan (UK), Ian Melrose (Scotland), Andres Godoy (Chile), the Hermit’s Hermits (UK), and Denny Seiwell, the drummer from Wings. Additionally, he has produced reference CDs for BOSE and DYNAUDIO. Ralf Gauck’s impressive career and collaborations highlight his status as a leading figure in the music industry, showcasing his talent and versatility as a bassist.
